Side Project: Designed To Be Worn
Your hands change over a lifetime, with weight fluctuation, pregnancy, ageing, even the weather! Over the years I’ve met so many people who say that they don’t like their hands - they think their fingers are not slim enough to show off a delicate band, or they fear drawing too much attention to ageing skin with bold rings.
As a jeweller I can ruin a manicure in record time but I’ve come to appreciate my hands in a different way as the ultimate tool: Weathered and scarred, but strong, resilient, empowering. They bring what’s in my head to life, the lines and faults tell my story of work and love - and I wouldn’t change that.
So if your hands are not picture perfect, look after them anyway. Adorn them, style them anyway with big bold rings, tiny rings, a single band, multiple stacks. Celebrate them just as they are for what they can do. They represent the years gone by and the years to come.
